Dmitri Chygrynskiy To Sign For Barcelona, Says Shakhtar Coach

Shakhtar Donetsk central defender Dmitri Chrygrynskiy has issued a plea to coach Mircea Lucescu to allow him to leave the club and join Spanish giants Barcelona.
Reuters have obtained an interview from Radio OM, where Lucescu admitted that the player had requested permission to discuss terms with Pep Guardiola and the Catalan club, and the Romanian appears resigned to losing the 22-year-old.
“When a team like Barcelona ask, you cannot say no,” the former Inter coach began, continuing, “I understand the player, because he want to go to Barcelona with all his heart. Who would not want to? Every player on the planet would want to.
“I also understand that the club have a need to sell. He will prove to be a great signing for Barcelona.”
The Ukrainian would become the Blaugrana’s fourth signing of the summer, after the purchases of Maxwell and Keirrison, and imminent arrival of Zlatan Ibrahimovic from Inter.
Lucescu offered the defender no higher praise by suggesting he is a superior player to Manchester United’s Serbian colossus, Nemanja Vidic.
“He is used to winning, playing under pressure, and at the highest level. I do not see why he could not play with Barcelona.
“He is an important player. He is the best defender in Europe, better than [Nemanja] Vidic of Manchester United.”
Reuters also reports that a delegation led by Joan Laporta travelled to Donetsk last week to meet with Shakhtar officials to broker a deal, but a transfer fee has yet to be agreed between the two parties.
