Fiorentina may find their bid for Lorenzo De Silvestri scuppered by Milan, as the Rossoneri have a crucial bargaining chip in Ignazio Abate.
It has been reported that the Viola agreed an €8 million fee with Lazio for De Silvestri, but nothing has yet been signed.
After a summit meeting was held between the movers and shakers at San Siro yesterday, Milan's transfer negotiations are moving much more quickly and they are said to be close to a deal for Lazio's right-back, according to Milannews.it.
Draft proposals for the transfer have been drawn up between Milan vice-president Adriano Galliani and Lazio president Claudio Lotito, but while Fiorentina have matched Lazio's asking price, Milan are considering a simple player exchange.
The Rossoneri are thought to believe that Abate's youth and talent is equivalent to that of De Silvestri and are hoping to take advantage of the good relations between the two clubs to push through a swap deal.
