Wenger - Chamakh is unavailable in January

Arsène Wenger does not believe he will be able to sign Marouane Chamakh in January.
The Gunners manager told Arsenal TV Online earlier this week that he may look to buy a striker in January to cover for the injured Robin Van Persie.
However, the Frenchman does not believe that Chamakh will be the man he purchases in the transfer window.
"He is not available, their [Bordeaux's] chairman says that," explained Wenger.
"They are top of their group in the Champions League. Why should they sell him now?"
The Moroccan international is out of contract at Bordeaux in the summer, meaning he would be available on a free transfer in the summer if he doesn't sign a new deal beforehand. As a result, his transfer value has plummeted.
"They will not get a lot of money," said Wenger.
"How for their fans can they sell one of their best players in the middle of the season when they are in an excellent position?"
Arsène Wenger is impressed by Wolfsburg striker Edin Dzeko but is unlikely to move for him in the January transfer window.
The Bosnian is one of the hottest properties in European football right now and helped his side to their first Bundesliga title last season.
An impressive 40 goals in 74 appearances has led the 23-year-old to be linked with any number of big clubs, Arsenal included. However Wenger believes Dzeko would cost too much money.
“I like the player,” he admitted at Friday’s press conference. “But they fly too high right now – price-wise.”
