Qualification is Standard Liege's problem, says Frenchman...
Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger insists that putting out a second-string team this evening would not mark a lack of respect for the sanctity of qualification from the Champions League group stage
The north London club will play Olympiakos at the Karaiskakis Stadium, with the Greeks needing only a point from the encounter to quality at the expense of Standard Liege.
The Belgian outfit are expected to have a keen eye cast toward the Wenger's team selection; for to progress, they need a win against AZ Alkmaar and for the Gunners to beat Zico's side.
However, the Frenchman is set to pick his players from a squad whose average age is just 20, as reserve team skipper Kyle Bartley and youngsters Craig Eastmond, Tom Cruise and Luke Ayling are expected to play a part in Athens.
"I want to respect the competition and I know that Olympiakos plays for a point to qualify, but most important is that we do well," Wenger said, according to Sporting Life.
"We want to have a fair game and good chance to win.
"We could have a draw as well with a normal team, and that would not be a bad result.
"What is the most important is the quality of our game.
"Afterwards, if Standard are in that position [third place], it is because they could not win the games before."
