利物浦雖然今屆成績唔好，但近年門將連拿為「紅軍」左飛右撲，○五年取得歐聯冠軍更係全靠佢救十二碼夠醒神，為畄穩定軍心，「紅軍」決定大手筆同呢位西班牙門將續約，佢本身二○一二年約滿，球會提早提供一份三年合約畀佢，而且周薪達到九萬鎊，相信連拿好快會簽約。

Benitez confirms Liverpool talks over Kenwyne Jones

Rafael Benitez has confirmed Liverpool have held talks with Sunderland over a deal to sign striker Kenwyne Jones although he is unsure about the current position of the deal.

Liverpool have been linked with Jones for some time, and Sunderland boss Steve Bruce hit out at Benitez on Friday for unsettling the player.

And while Benitez insists he did nothing wrong in the pursuit of Jones, he has confirmed that the two clubs are currently discussing a potential deal.

"I was not dealing with this," Benitez said. "(Managing director) Christian Purslow has been talking with (Sunderland chairman) Niall Quinn so they have to manage the situation because I was not doing anything.

"I prefer not to talk too much because we will create a debate so Christian and Niall will continue to talk if they need to talk. They were in contact but I don't know what the situation is now."

It is understood that Liverpool are privately angry at Bruce's comments, particularly as preliminary talks have been taking place between the clubs since last month.

West Ham bid for AWOL Blackburn striker McCarthy

Blackburn have reportedly received a written offer from West Ham for striker Benni McCarthy and the South Africa international appears even more likely to leave Ewood Park after boss Sam Allardyce revealed that the he has missed Rovers' last two training sessions.

The Hammers have been heavily linked with McCarthy after Allardyce said earlier this month he could leave, but any departure will not be on good terms after the Blackburn boss admitted he was unhappy with McCarthy's double training no-show.

"We are very disappointed with Benni's non-appearance for training and will deal with it separately should he remain here after the transfer window has closed,'' the Rovers boss said.

"We have said all along that we will listen to offers, but only agree to sell if both the commercial and football reasons satisfy Blackburn Rovers. That situation remains unchanged.''

Although Allardyce will have no qualms about off-loading McCarthy he will not do so unless he can find an adequate replacement. However, the player's refusal to attend training means his chances of having a future at Ewood Park are slim.

West Ham are in the market for a big-name striker having gone public with their interest in former Manchester United striker Ruud van Nistelrooy.

New co-owner David Sullivan said the debt-ridden club were prepared to pay the Real Madrid forward £100,000-a-week but the Dutchman snubbed them for German side Hamburg.

Wilshere will go on loan 'without any doubt'

Jack Wilshere will be loaned out during January "without any doubt".

Arsène Wenger remains eager to give the highly-rated 18-year-old midfielder a chance to gain experience elsewhere. The likes of Bolton, Burnley, West Ham and Dutch side Twente have been mentioned in the media as possible destinations.

Nothing has materialised yet but Wenger hopes to do a deal before the transfer window closes next week.

"I will let him go out on loan without any doubt," said the manager before the weekend game. "I want him to go to the right club and play."

Fulham have accepted a bid from Manchester United for Chris Smalling, Sky Sports News understands.

The 20-year-old defender has become the subject of intense speculation during the January transfer window, with a number of clubs tracking his progress.

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger, a man renowned for nurturing young talent, had openly expressed his admiration for the talented centre-half.

The Gunners are, however, yet to show their hand, with Wenger favouring a cagey approach in his winter transfer business.

That appears to have opened the door to reigning Premier League champions United, with Sir Alex Ferguson keen to snap up Smalling as a potential star of the future.

The England Under-21 international has made rapid progress since joining Fulham from Maidstone in 2008, and made his first Premier League start against Chelsea on 28th December 2009.

The Cottagers had been keen to fend off interest in the youngster amid mounting speculation, and have not commented on United's reported offer, but they appear to have relented in their efforts to keep Smalling in the capital.

利物浦重生從賣謝拉特開始 換6千萬重建王朝

利物浦本賽季陷入了危機，球會在各項賽事中成績不佳，而財政上更是捉襟見肘，沒有轉會預算來買人。


對此，英格蘭名帥維納布爾斯在專欄文章中提出了一個建議：賣掉謝拉特，開始紅軍的重建。 維納布爾斯專欄文章：賣掉謝拉特不會是利物浦的末日謝拉特很久以來一直是利物浦的救世主。誰都不會忘記2005年在伊斯坦布爾和AC米蘭的歐聯決賽中，他引導全隊在下半時打出了令人震驚的大逆轉。而在一年之後，他又在和韋斯咸的足總盃決賽最後時刻攻入30碼的遠射，將利物浦從失敗的邊緣拉回。


足球歷史上能在這麼多時刻拯救球隊的球員並不多，謝拉特的肩膀和後背也許會感到疼痛，因為他這麼多年來一直扛著利物浦前進。 我認為如今謝拉特唯一能拯救利物浦的辦法--這話在默施斯德的紅色一邊也許不能大聲說出來--那就是離開晏菲路。

這支球隊現在不能攻入足夠多的入球，他們對謝拉特和托利斯的依賴太嚴重了，很顯然，他們需要一次徹底的重建。也許有人會認為奇怪，怎麼能賣掉球隊最好的球員呢？我承認，不久以前賣掉謝拉特的想法也許還是不可考慮的，但現在利物浦正在經歷不尋常的時期，他們需要一些不尋常的辦法。利物浦的陣容毫無疑問需要提高，但就像我以前所說的，在希克斯和吉列的手下，球會看起來深處財政困境，他們在轉會市場上沒有能力有什麼作為。他們需要簽新的球員，但卻沒有財力，賣掉隊長來換取轉會費，有可能成為解決問題的途徑。這不會受到利物浦球迷的支持，我知道會在短期內造成混亂，但從長遠的角度考慮，這也許是球會可以做出的最佳選擇，當然，前提是賣掉謝拉特的錢直接被用來轉會收購和加強陣容，而不是去填補債務上的空洞。賣掉謝拉特可以得到4000萬、5000萬甚至6000萬英鎊，這足夠完成三四筆優秀球員的引進，並在晏菲路開啟一個新的時代。這將幫助利物浦建設一支新的球隊，不再僅僅依靠一兩個關鍵球員，而承擔重擔的責任感，也將在球隊里擴展開來。利物浦將有一個新的方向，新的打法，入球會從其他地方到來。


這樣的轉會也會讓謝拉特受益。 謝拉特在利物浦的表現一直很好，他設定了極高的標準，但每一次出場時都被期待做出超人的表現，這一定很艱難。六年前，謝拉特差一點去了車路士，他對利物浦的熱愛讓他最終留了下來，但謝拉特毫不掩飾自己的願望，那就是在歐聯、足總盃等獎盃旁，再贏得一個英超的冠軍，這個願望可能會帶來轉會的動力。 今年五月份，謝拉特就將年滿三十歲，這是一個裡程碑，我想他也許會在今年夏天決定離開利物浦。


這取決於很多事情，紅軍本賽季的名次以及英格蘭在世界盃的表現，如果他真的離開利物浦，那不會是紅軍的世界末日，也許只是一個新時代的開始。
