Official: Valencia Sign Galatasaray Midfielder Mehmet Topal

Galatasaray have confirmed the sale of Turkish international midfielder Mehmet Topal to Valencia.
“Galatasaray and Valencia have agreed terms for the transfer of Mehmet Topal,” the Turkish club confirmed via their official website.
“Mehmet Topal's transfer to Valencia will be complete after the player passes a medical.”
The 24-year-old defensive midfielder, who has won 15 caps for his country, will join los Che after this summer’s World Cup in South Africa for a fee of €5 million.
Topal, nicknamed ‘the Spider’ because of his long legs and ability to pinch the ball in midfield, moved to Istanbul in 2006 after impressing with TFF Second League club Canakkale Dardanelspor.
Valencia had been strongly linked with a move for Topal over recent months with the player himself recently admitting he would like the opportunity to play in La Liga.
