Francesco Antonioli [Cesena]
On this form the Giallorossi must rue the day they sold him. The veteran shot-stopper inspired his team while parrying, saving and making significant deflections to leave Vucinic, De Rossi and Okaka highly frustrated. Superlative.
Cristian Zaccardo [Parma]
The former Azzurri right-back could play his way back into the national set up after this performance. Created several problems for the visitors down the flank and would have scored if not for Sereni’s save. Sublime.
Thiago Silva [Milan]
Along with Ronaldinho and Pato he was part of the Brazilian triumvirate that ran the match. Almost scored with a blitzkrieg of a shot before slipping one home from a yard out through a posse of defenders. Surgical.
Andrea Ranocchia [Genoa]
The 22-year-old centre-back was coolness personified. With the minimum of effort he was always in the right place to close any danger down and, with his precise passing and commanding presence, he impressed. Subtle.
Edgar Alvarez [Bari]
Was a real menace down the right and his forceful runs kept the Juve defence on the back foot. His opposite number De Ceglie was ran ragged and made to look foolish several times over. Supercharged.
Gaby Mudingayi [Bologna]
The Belgian international was at the heart of all that was good for Bologna. Never gave an inch in the battle to control the midfield and cut off the supply to Inter’s front line. Superior.
Gaetano D’Agostino [Fiorentina]
Played in a different role yet still comfortable on the ball and did not waste a single pass. Collected a neat ball from Gilardino before hammering home an absolute thunderbolt past De Sanctis to force the equaliser. Substantial.
Giandomenico Mesto [Genoa]
The former Inter target came on as a sub but showed his class with a magnificent overhead strike to score the winner from Dainelli’s free-kick. Should start every week after this display. Supersub.
Ezequiel Lavezzi [Napoli]
With more than most to prove this season il Pocho was in top form. Always looking to use the ball to Napoli’s advantage, he played a major part in Cavani’s goal. Sweated gallons for the Azzurri and almost broke the crossbar with one effort. Super.
Ronaldinho [Milan]
In absolutely awesome form with high-speed jinks, feints, controlled shooting and killer passes. Could have scored at least a hat-trick but was denied by some superb goalkeeping. Set up Pato’s second with a brilliant through ball and was arguably Man of the Match. Supernatural.
Pato [Milan]
The Brazilian was red hot from the first minute and scored two superb goals. His first from a clever pass from Ambrosini saw his low angled shot fly into the net. His second came from Ronnie’s pass. Superlative.
