CARROLL WANTS TO QUIT NEWCASTLE

There are few teams in the country where the players and coaching staff have appeared as united this year as at Newcastle, so it's no surprise that in the wake of Chris Hughton's departure, there are murmurs in the media about several star players questioning whether they wish to stay at the club.
The Independent claim that their number nine Andy Carroll, who felt indebted to Hughton for his rapid rise into international football and Premier League top goalscorer contention (14.5), has been hit harder than most by the decision and may feel so strongly that he opts to leave his boyhood side.

The article also indicates that despite handing Carroll a new long-term contract recently, the Newcastle board could be willing to sell in January if supposed suitors such as Tottenham are willing to bid at least ￡15 million for the in-form 21-year-old.
Any suggestion that reports of the Newcastle players being deeply dissatisfied with the situation at St James' Park are merely paper talk were quashed by Sol Campbell's comments in an interview with ESPN Soccernet last night in which the popularity of Hughton and disillusionment at the call to axe him were made clear.
The veteran defender was quoted saying that "this will hit the players hard" and that "it will affect the dressing room, there is no doubt about that".
There was also not-so-subtle criticism of Mike Ashley and co in his view that "it makes no sense. Here is a guy who has done an unbelievable job. He got the club back into the Premier League and any manager would have been rewarded for that with a new contract, but Chris wasn't."

出得起15M就有其他好選擇la
