1704: Yep, the BBC has just had confirmation that Newcastle did reject Liverpool's second bid of £35m for Andy Carroll. BUT we understand that will not be the end of the matter... If and when a third bid is made, we will let you know. Carroll is apparently keen on the move, remember.
Eurosport: As we initmated earlier, there's now rumours Spurs want to hijack Liverpool's bid for Andy Carroll. Tottenham surely won't go to that sort of price (£35m+) but could throw Peter Crouch into the equation. But there's so many potential issues there (would Crouch want to go?) with time running out.

Eurosport: The Magpies say they have reluctantly granted permission for Carroll to talk to Liverpool - quite how all this can happen so quickly is beyond me. How quickly did the striker scribble out that transfer request?
