Fiorentina table offer for Santos' Arouca - agent
The Italian club have initiated talks with a view to signing the midfielder, who may only join the club at the end of the year, at his request
Fiorentina have put together an offer for Santos defensive midfielder Arouca, the player's agent has claimed.
The 24-year-old midfielder has emerged as the latest Santos talent to be linked with a move to Europe following the club's successful Copa Libertadores campaign.
Fiorentina, who finished ninth in Serie A last season, have reportedly offered €6 million for the player, with Santos having yet to communicate their answer to the bid.
"I was contacted by Fiorentina officials and I passed on the information they requested about Arouca," the player's agent, Richard Alda, told Globoesporte.
"I was told Santos have already received the offer. There is the possibility that he leaves, but it will also depend on Santos' interest."
Arouca has asked Fiorentina to stay at Santos until the end of the Club World Cup in December, but Alda clarified the appeal is not essential for the transfer to go through.
"Arouca has made that request to Fiorentina, but we cannot look at it as a condition for the agreement," the agent added.
The Brazilian midfielder, who has a contract with Santos until 2014, signed for Santos in 2010 for €3.5m after enjoying a loan spell at the club. |
