Dwight Howard met with new Orlando Magic general manager Rob Hennigan on Friday and told him he wants to be traded to the Brooklyn Nets, according to sources with knowledge of the situation.

Howard and Hennigan sat down face to face in Los Angeles, meeting for the first time since Hennigan became Orlando's GM nearly two weeks ago.

"There's only one team on my list and if I don't get traded there, I'll play the season out and explore my free agency after that," Howard told Yahoo! Sports.

Howard did not specify which team, but Yahoo! Sports said multiple league sources believe that it is the Brooklyn Nets.

Hennigan was noncommittal when Howard told him he wants to be traded to Brooklyn, sources said.

Deron Williams has decided to re-sign with the Brooklyn Nets.

Williams also considered signing with the Dallas Mavericks

Williams announced the news via Twitter.

The contract will be for approximately $98 million over five years. Williams could have instead signed with the Mavericks for $75 million over four seasons.

Phoenix Suns get commitment from Eric Gordon to signing a maximum-level offer sheet

Restricted free agent Eric Gordon, a stellar shooting guard, committed to signing a maximum-level offer sheet with the Suns Tuesday night.

The Suns can sign Gordon to the offer sheet on July 11. New Orleans would then have three days to match the offer and retain him and are expected to do so.

"After visiting the Suns, the impression the organization made on me was incredible," Gordon said in a prepared statement. "Mr. Sarver, Lon Babby, Lance Blanks, the front office staff and Coach Gentry run a first-class organization, and I strongly feel they are the right franchise for me. Phoenix is just where my heart is now."

A maximum contract was expected to be worth $58 million over four years for Gordon, who is 23.
