Bucks request waivers on F Henderson

MILWAUKEE (Ticker) - A day after acquiring Alan Henderson in a salary dump deal, the Milwaukee Bucks requested waivers on the veteran forward.
The Bucks sent forward Keith Van Horn to the Dallas Mavericks before the trading deadline on Thursday for Henderson and forward Calvin Booth.
Seeking to shed Van Horn, who has a $15.7 million option for next season, the Bucks took back Henderson because he was in the final year of his contract, along with Booth, who has two years and $13.1 million left on his contract after this season.

Henderson, 32, averaged a career-low 3.5 points and 4.5 rebounds in 52 games this season, his 10th in the NBA. The winner of the 1998 Most Improved Player Award, Henderson has career averages of 8.9 points and 5.4 rebounds in 537 games with Atlanta and Dallas.
By trading Van Horn and guard Mike James before the deadline, the Bucks have created enough salary cap space to re-sign star guard Michael Redd, who can become a free agent this summer and could command a maximum contract. |
