Dear Officer,
I am writing the letter that regard the Leisure and Cultural Services Department’s plan to hold an international pop music festival in an open area very close to where I live. I strongly agree to the plan. The reasons are two-fold.
The music festival will bring a remarkable benefit to the tourism. It’s crystal clear that tourism is vitally important to the territory. A multitude of revenues of Hong Kong is gained by the tourism, without tourism, the economic situation will be aggravated. The international pop music festival will attract a spate of tourists to come to Hong Kong. The more successful the music festival is, the larger number of tourists will visit Hong Kong, and the more revenue Hong Kong will gain. Regardless of the detrimental effect of the nearby residents, such as noise pollution, the music festival is a long-term blessing to Hong Kong. In hopes of the prosperity of Hong Kong, the international pop music festival should be organized.
Besides the main pillar, tourism, of the Hong Kong’s economy, cementing the improvement of local musicians is also a significant element. Chris Wong, a 22-year-old person, his future of being a guitarist is gloomy. Alongside him are thousands of youngsters, they practice 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Hard-working though they are, they are in lack of opportunities. To rectify the scenario, something concrete has to be done. If the international pop music festival will be held, a myriad of local musicians will be involved in it. With this memorable experience, their improvement will be beyond imagination and their abilities will be beyond question in the future. Given the opportunities of performing in the music festival, experienced and capable musicians will proliferate. The case of Chris Wong will no longer exist.
To sum up, advantages of holding the music festival outweigh the disadvantages. Certainly, it will be a godsend to Hong Kong instead of a plague. Therefore, I hope the Leisure and Cultural Services Department will take my point of views into account and hold the international pop music festival.
Yours faithfully,
R.Lee |
