Inter: We’ll sign Real pair

Inter have confirmed that they are close to signing the Real Madrid duo of Walter Samuel and Santiago Solari.

The Nerazzurri spent most of Monday in talks with agent Ernesto Bronzetti regarding the pair and negotiations are going well.

"It is just a matter of days for Samuel and Solari," Inter President Giacinto Facchetti told journalists outside the club’s Via Durini headquarters.

It is widely believed that a deal for Solari (pictured) has been reached with just a few small details to iron out.

The Argentine, a left winger, should finally complete his San Siro switch after being linked with the outfit since the summer of 2002.

Samuel’s transfer is a little more complicated even if reports over the weekend suggested that a loan deal had basically been agreed.

It is still unclear whether the former Roma player will arrive on loan or on a permanent basis, even if Facchetti’s words suggest he will be wearing the Nerazzurri shirt next term.

In reply to questions on the Nerazzurri's transfer market, Facchetti said: "As far as Solari is concerned, we can say we are at a good point after the negotiations in the past few days. Negotiations for Samuel are ongoing. Gilardino? He's a great player, he did very well last season. As always, Inter follow all the great champions on the transfer market with great attention. But, once again, we already have great champions in attack.
