Plymouth have completed one of the biggest signings in the club's history with the acquisition of Nigeria international Taribo West.
The 31-year-old former Inter Milan defender joins the Pilgrims from Qatari side Al-Arabi, whom he joined a year ago after leaving Partizan Belgrade.
West, who has been capped 40 times by his country, has signed a one-year deal with Plymouth.
A centre-back as famous for his creative hairstyles as his robust defending, West has also had spells at French side Auxerre and Italian giants AC Milan.
This will be his second stint in England, having spent six months at Derby in 2001.
A crowd favourite at Pride Park, he subsequently left County and later joined Kaiserslautern and then Partizan Belgrade.
At Partizan, he helped dump Newcastle out of the Champions League in the qualifying round in 2003.
West has indicated he would jump at a return to England and has been linked with Liverpool and Portsmouth. |
