Monaco admit their hopes of signing Dutch winger Andy Van der Meyde from Inter are fading fast.
According to Monaco’s Vice-resident Gérard Brianti, the deal had almost been completed before the player had a change of heart.
"We had struck a chord with Inter," said Brianti, in charge of the the French side’s recruitment. "But with the player, it has suddenly gone very, very cold.
"The contract negotiations were a little complicated and we haven’t yet been able to reach an agreement on the few little details that are keeping us apart."
Van der Meyde revealed he will make his final decision at the end of his holidays, on July 10. |
