Argentine outfit River Plate are set to fail in their bid to sign Julio Ricardo Cruz from Inter.
The South American giants are keen on the international forward but a move doesn’t seem to be on the horizon.
"I have an excellent relationship with the River President but I am certain that Cruz will stay with Inter," his agent Jorge Cyterszpiler said.
"He still has one year left on his current contract with the Italian club and he could renew that for one or two more years."
Cruz has been associated with an exit after rarely featuring in the first team under boss Roberto Mancini last year.
However, there is more room for him this term after Christian Vieri terminated his contract in order to join city rivals Milan this week.
Fiorentina and Bologna were keen on the former Feyenoord player but his agent has revealed more interest.
"Cruz has also rejected a really good offer from Portuguese club Benfica," he continued.
"Julio wants to stay in Italy for a little bit longer, he’ll return to his native Argentina in four or five years."
