Lazio captain Aparecido Cesar says he is on the verge of signing a new contract at the Stadio Olimpico.
The Brazilian has less than a year left on his current deal but he seemingly has no desire to leave Rome.
"Both the club and myself are ready to extend our relationship," said the left-sided midfielder.
"We will sign as soon as that is possible. After all, there is plenty of time between now and next June."
The South American has been linked with both Juventus and Inter over the last two summers.
Meanwhile, Lazio chief Claudio Lotito has commented on stories that Milan are keen on right-back Massimo Oddo.
"I’m unaware of any Milan interest in him," stated Lotito. "He wants to go there but you need two for a marriage.
"Anyway, Lazio are not a selling club but a buying one. We will also sign seven new players before the Serie A season starts."
The Biancocelesti actually kicked-off their campaign yesterday with a 3-0 Intertoto Cup win against Tampere United of Finland. |
