After several days of rumours, Parma have confirmed that a basic deal has been struck for Bernardo Corradi.
“Yesterday we did get past a lot of problems that we had in the negotiations,” confirmed technical director Oreste Cinquini. “I won’t say it’s a done deal, because I only ever use those words when the ink is dry on the paperwork, but I hope everything has been sorted out.”
Corradi was looking for a return to Italy after a disappointing campaign at Valencia, while Parma required a centre-forward to replace Milan’s new signing Alberto Gilardino.
“I hope that on Monday Corradi will be at the Collecchio ground to train with his new Gialloblu teammates,” added Cinquini. “We have reached an agreement with Valencia and they just need to finalise a few details with the player. It was a complex move, but he will arrive on loan.”
However, the former Chievo, Inter and Lazio striker will not be the only reinforcement for Parma boss Mario Beretta.
“We will certainly sign another forward. It’s a road we’ve been going down for some time and I think that by the end of next week we will have concluded the deal. That should ensure that we have coverage in that area of the squad.”
The Stadio Tardini side will make its official debut on Sunday night in a Coppa Italia match against Cavese. |
