Brazilian international full-back Cicinho has admitted that he dreams about joining Italian giants Milan.
"I want to play in Italy," he told the Gazzetta dello Sport newspaper. "It has been my dream since I was a child.
"I would like to join Milan. They are the strongest side in Europe. But there are also Inter and Juventus and I often speak to Adriano and Emerson about them."
The Sao Paulo player is widely considered as Marcos Cafu’s heir in the national side, and he could also eventually replace him at the San Siro too.
"My friend Cafu is already at Milan," continued the right-back, who is currently in Italy waiting for an Italian passport.
"He is my idol and it is an honour for me to be considered as his heir. It would be extraordinary to take his place in the Milan side but why couldn’t we play together?"
Although he recently extended his contract with his South American club until 2008, he could join an Italian outfit in January.
He has a buy-out clause in his contract for £11m but sources in the peninsula suggest he could be netted for as little as £6m. |
