Skysports.com understand that Bolton Wanderers are interested in signing Ousmane Dabo from Lazio.
Reports in France suggest that Dabo is a target for The Trotters, who are looking to expand their squad ahead of a historic season.
Bolton will bring European football to The Reebok Stadium for the first time and manager Sam Allardyce is anxious to add depth to his ranks.
A deal for Hidetoshi Nakata is close to being finalised but Allardyce has confirmed that he wants to follow up the Japan international's acquisition with further signings.
Among Allardyce's targets is French midfielder Dabo, who has been told he can leave Lazio.
Dabo has just 12 months remaining on his contract at Stadio Olimpico and was placed on the transfer list earlier in the summer.
Everton were linked with a move for the 28-year-old but the capture of Phil Neville from Manchester United has lessened David Moyes' need for a holding midfielder.
That has left Bolton in pole position to bring Dabo to The Premiership, with the former Atalanta ace keen to play in England.
A season-long loan deal could be the way forward for Allardyce as he weighs up making Dabo his latest recruit. |
