BAROS SIGNS FOR VILLA

Aston Villa have today confirmed the signing of Milan Baros from Liverpool on a four year deal.
The Czech striker passed a medical in the Midlands today before putting pen to paper on his contract.
Villa have beaten off competition from French outfit Lyon for the 24 year old's signature.
"It is not easy to leave Liverpool but Aston Villa are also a big club and I am happy to come here," said Baros.
"I used to play alongside Patrik Berger at Liverpool and with the Czech Republic. I spoke to Patrik and he said so many good things about Villa to encourage me to join.
"Hopefully my best years are still to come. I am still young and very ambitious. I want to achieve things here with Aston Villa. I am impressed with this club. There is a lot of quality here and together I think we can go forward this season.
"I just can't wait to play and start scoring goals and I'm looking forward to my debut on Saturday against Blackburn at Villa Park."
Villa boss David O'Leary was naturally thrilled to secure the services of the Czech ace.
"I'm delighted we've finally got our man," he said. "It's taken a while but credit to the chairman and the chief executive for sticking with it.
"Milan will give us the spark that we need up front and I'm looking forward to working with him."
