Manchester United target Cicinho has spoken of his delight at agreeing a pre-contract with Spanish titans Real Madrid.
The 25-year-old Brazil international, who is regarded as Cafu's natural successor, did hold talks with Sir Alex Ferguson over a switch to Old Trafford, but opted for a move to Spain when he heard of Real's interest.
Los Merengues have now agreed a deal with Sao Paulo which gives them first option on the right-back and he will join the Spaniards during the January transfer window.
"I am very happy, it's a good agreement for Sao Paulo, for me and for Real Madrid," Cicinho stated.
"For the time being I will continue to think about winning titles with and helping my club (Sao Paulo) as much as I can, as they have given me everything.
"I will think about Spain when I leave Sao Paulo."
The full back also conceded that the proliferation of Brazilian players at Real would ease his adaptation to life at the Santiago Bernabeu.
"This circumstance will help my adaptation to the football and make things easier," he added. |
