Manchester United are reported to be considering a move for American defender Oguchi Onyewu. Reports emanating from Belgium suggest United are tracking the highly-rated Standard Liege ace. Onyewu enjoyed a fine season at Standard last term and his performances have not gone unnoticed. Newcastle and Birmingham have both been linked with the talented central defender, but United could be ready to steal a march on their rivals by luring Onyewu to Old Trafford. United could be in the market for a new defender as they look to bring in cover for Rio Ferdinand and Mikael Silvestre.
