Everton have completed the signing of FC Porto left-back Nuno Valente for an undisclosed fee. The 30-year-old put pen to paper on a three-year deal.

Everton manager David Moyes told his club's official website: "He has signed for us and we are delighted to have him here.

"We found it difficult in the summer when we were looking for a left-back but we have been able to move quite quickly on this deal."

On his move for Inter winger Andy van der Meyde, Moyes added: "He had a medical on Friday. We will look at the medical over the course of the weekend and make a decision next week."
