The Viola have offered three million Euros for the services of the Anderlecht player.
Wilhelmsson may be on the verge of playing in Italy this season as Fiorentina are negotiating with Anderlecht on the transfer of the Swedish winger.

So far, the Belgian club has rejected a 3 million offer which the Gigliati have presented, but Wilhelmsson declared that he would welcome a move to Italy.

Reports emanating from the Italian press continue to link Fiorentina with a move for Christian Wilhelmsson.

Fiorentina are known to be in the market for midfield reinforcements and have earmarked the talented Swede as a potential new recruit.

Wilhelmsson is known to hanker after a move to Serie A and some sources have gone as far as to suggest Fiorentina have already lodged a bid.

A reported fee of around €3 million has already been rejected - with Fiorentina now weighing up whether to lodge another bid for the industrious Scandinavian.

With Wednesday's transfer deadline looming, any bid would have to be received in the not too distant future if terms are to be concurred between all parties.
