Di Vaio postpones Italian return Tuesday 30 August, 2005

Valencia striker Marco Di Vaio will not be returning to Serie A until January at the very earliest.
The Italian international has been associated with a transfer to the peninsula, but his agent maintains that won’t happen before the summer window closes this week.
"It is not true to say that we are looking for a return to the Italian championship, not right now anyway," Zavaglia told Radio Radio on Tuesday.
"The plan is for Di Vaio to play in Spain until January and then listen to any offers which arrive when the window opens again in the New Year."
Di Vaio joined the Spanish club in 2004 after Juventus accepted an offer of around £8m for the player.
He endured a difficult first campaign in La Liga which fuelled speculation of another move this summer.
Inter have been linked as they look for a Christian Vieri replacement, while Milan are keen too given Pippo Inzaghi’s fitness problems.
There was even talk this week that Parma, where Di Vaio really exploded on to the Italian scene, were keen on bringing him back in a loan deal.
In other transfer news, Chievo have cut their squad by two following the departures of Emanuele Pesaresi and John Mensah.
Pesaresi, a left-back, has joined Pescara, while Mensah has agreed to join Cremonese on loan. |
