Benfica have blocked Liverpool's attempts to sign winger Simao Sabrosa.
The 25-year-old Portuguese international was given permission to speak to Liverpool and to undergo a medical but his club have blocked the deal at the 11th hour. Benfica are currently preventing a deal from going through which suggests there's a problem with the transfer fee.
Liverpool have until midnight to have any transfers rubber-stamped and are likely to continue negotiating with Benfica.
