Everton have delayed the transfer of Andy Van der Meyde from Inter until the very last minute. With the transfer deadline rapidly approaching, Everton are still waiting on the results of the player’s medical. A fee has already been agreed with Inter but the Toffees are concerned about a groin injury the winger is carrying. The Dutch international will be unable to play for around three weeks and it is proving a sticking point in the medical examinations. "Everton are waiting for a second opinion on Andy’s groin injury," explained the player’s agent Chiel Dekker. "Everything has been agreed and Andy is set to sign a four-year deal. I am confident that the medical will prove successful and Andy will complete the move."

InternazionaleAndy van der Meyde's move to Everton is in the balance as the club wait for the result of his medical.
Everton are hoping to tie up a deal for the Dutch international after agreeing a fee with Internazionale last summer.
Van der Meyde is currently recovering from a groin injury and reports suggest The Toffees are not fully convinced by the player's recovery from the problem.
The skilful winger is expected to be out of action for three weeks with the problem and this has cast doubt over the move.
Everton are waiting to see if van der Meyde gets the all-clear from the medical before tying up the move for the former Ajax ace.
Van der Meyde's agent Chiel Dekker remains confident that the move will go through.
"Everton are waiting for a second opinion on Andy's groin injury," Dekker told skysports.com.
"We are waiting for the results of the tests and I expect an announcement will be made tomorrow (Wednesday).
"Everything has been agreed and Andy is set to sign a four-year deal.
"I am confident that the medical will prove successful and Andy will complete the move."
