The Serie A transfer window closed this evening at 19 o’clock Italian time without any of the major signings touted as probable in the past days taking place.
AS Roma will continue having both Antonio Cassano and Mancini in their roster at least until the next transfer window (January), top-scorer Cristiano Lucarelli has decided to stay-put in Livorno despite Tottenham’s lucrative contract offer, while Alessandro Del Piero is still a Juventus player at full effect.
Marco Di Vaio’s move to Inter didn’t happen either despite the problems the former Parma and Juve striker is currently having with Valencia boss Sanchez Flores.
Some minor moves did however take place, including Van der Meyde’s Everton switch, Coco’s loan deal to Livorno, and Miccoli’s move to Benfica.
Today also saw Roma sign two keepers, Greek Eleftheropoulos from Milan, and Brazilian Doni from Juventude, even though on each of these two transfers an official statement on behalf of the Giallorosso club has yet to be released.
