Dyer: Nobby will lift Toon gloom
Kieron Dyer believes the signing of Nolberto Solano will lift Newcastle just as much as the capture of Michael Owen from Real Madrid.
Solano, a former fans favourite at St James' Park, made the switch back to Tyneside from Aston Villa right on the transfer deadline on Wednesday.
And Dyer feels his presence and personality will help lift the gloom at the club, telling the club's official website: "It's funny, but just the other day I was on the phone to Craig Bellamy and we were talking about how good Nobby used to be in the changing room( ).
"You used to get a phone call at 11pm at night and it would be Nobby playing his trumpet down the phone at you.
"Then on Wednesday night when he signed for us again, my phone rang and it was Nobby telling me he was having a barbecue at his house on Friday night ( ) and that I could bring everyone I knew!
"That's the type of lad he is, he'll have a massive impact in the changing room again. I'm sure him and the other new signings will lift the doom and gloom around the place."
