Eto'o in hospital until Saturday
Barça striker Samuel Eto'o has taken a serious knock to the head in Friday's training session and will be hospitalised until Saturday morning with a closed head injury.
While jumping to challenge for the ball, Samuel Eto'o and Damià clashed heads in a training accident, causing the Cameroonians head to bleed. Eto'o, who did not lose consciousness at any moment, was rushed away from La Masia training ground by members of the Club Medical Services.
Tests detect no major damage
The player was taken directly to Barcelona Hospital, where he was scanned neurologically, and also subjected to complementary testing, and the official report observes that nothing out of the ordinary has occurred.
Doctor Gil Rodas, who accompanied the player to hospital, announced that Eto'o will be kept under observation at the hospital for 24 hours, and a follow-up analysis will be made on Saturday morning. "If the results of the test allow it," he said, "he will then be given the all-clear to leave hospital". |
