Jenas fails his geography:
Three Lions in my goldfish bowl
Former Mag Jermaine Jenas has been speaking to the official Spurs website about life at his new club and how great it is that Spurs are signing Englishmen.
Presumably that means that his shyness has prevented him making contact with his new club colleagues( ): Rasiak (Poland), Naybet (Morocco), Davids (Netherlands), Tainio (Finland), Stalteri (Canada), Mendes (Portugal), Keane (Ireland), Fulop (Hungary), Pyo-Lee (South Korea), Pamarot (France), Bunjevcevic (Yugoslavia), el-Hamdaoui (Netherlands), Mido (Egypt), Hallfredsson (Iceland), Yeates (Ireland), Ziegler (Switzerland), or Cerny (Czech Republic)....
"It is a bit different for me and everything is new, the sessions are new, the people are new and there is a lot of get used to - but it is all going fine and I am looking forward to it all.
"I've played in Europe and international level and coming down here is another experience for me. It is my second move and all experiences are good experiences and hopefully it will be another good one for me at Tottenham.
"The youth of the side and the English players that have been bought in was a big thing. There is a lot of ambition around the club and they are looking to go places - I believe we are going to go places. I want to be part of that.
"I think it is good the management and staff here at Spurs are nurturing the young English talent. It is good for the English game and, surrounding the English players, there are foreign players of great ability and experience.
"I know a load of the lads already. I've known Daws and Reidy* since I was 14 and obviously know their game well. I have also been with Jermain for years and Ledley as we have been all through the England system together."
* Andy Reid - who is of course from that fine English City... Dublin.
Including Jenas, Spurs had 8 English players in their 16 man side against Liverpool on Saturday. Newcastle had 9.
