PREVIEW: DEPORTIVO - BETIS (LA LIGA 21h00)
Wednesday 21st September, 2005 -- Today the Galicians will play their second home game of the season. This time the rival is Betis, a squad that fulfilled an excellent job last campaign winning the copa del rey and a place in the Champions League. The main absence in Depor is Munitis who was sent off in the confrontation against Valencia.
DEPORTIVO: PROBLEMS WITH THE WINGERS
Joaquín Caparrós will have to present new modifications in the squad since his four wingers are out of the game: Munitis (suspended), Momo (knee-injury), Iván Carril (muscular problems) and Víctor (recovering from a knee-injury). In order to solve the problem the Sevillan coach will send Joan Capdevila to the left wing and Rúben Castro to the right.
The presence of Capdevila as winger will cause the move of Enrique Romero to the left side on defence and the appearance of Fabricio Coloccini in the central positions. The defensive line will be completed with Manuel Pablo on the right and Jorge Andrade will be the partner of Coloccini. The duo Aldo Duscher-Sergio will continue to perform in midfield.
Finally, Juan Carlos Valerón and Diego Tristán are the choices that will be used upfront. The Canarian midfielder is fulfilling the expectations playing as second striker and he will have a new chance to prove it. Taborda and Senel will be Caparrós' offensive choices on the bench . They will be joined by De Guzmán, Scaloni, Juanma and Dani Mallo.
Diego Tristán gave his opinion about the match. He believes that this is a special game for him: "It's always different when I play against a Sevillan team. If I'm able to score a couple of goals it will be important for my family and for some Sevillans friends that I have. I was always lucky to score goals against Betis and Sevilla."
BETIS: MORE ROTATIONS
Coach Lorenzo Serra Ferrer made seven modifications in the confrontation against Zaragoza in order to give some rest to his men. The Sevillan club has to play against Barcelona on Saturday and next Wednesday they will travel to Belgium to play against Anderlecht in the Champions League. For this reason the rotations are the medicine chosen in order to avoid more injuries in the beginning of season.
It's expected that Serra Ferrer will present new modifications in his starting eleven. The main changes will occur in the defensive zone, Juanito and Rivas will return to the central positions replacing Melli and Nano. Meanwhile, Oscar López will appear on the left replacing Castellini.
In midfield Alberto Rivera, Miguel Angel and Israel will rest giving their spots on the pitch to Assuncao, Capi and Arzú. The real problem for Serra Ferrer is the offensive sector. His team has only scored one goal in three matches and the injuries left him only with the choice of Oliveira, against Depor Fernando will join the Brazilian striker since Dani and Edú are out of the list of called players.
Ricardo Oliveira gave his opinion prior to the match about the absence of goals in Betis: "It's a normal thing having this pressure for the absence of goals. We are only starting and I'm sure that the squad will score sooner or later. I believe that this situation will change for us and we don't have to be anxious about it."
