Everton boss David Moyes is aiming to follow the lead of rivals Liverpool as they look to keep their European hopes alive.
The Toffees face Dinamo Bucharest on Thursday hoping to overturn a 5-1 deficit after an embarrassing first leg in Romania.
Moyes admits it is a major task facing his side, but is calling on his players to take heart from Liverpool's amazing Champions League final win over Milan when they came from three goals down to secure their fifth European Cup.
"It is a big task but not an impossible one," said Moyes.
"Liverpool were 3-0 down with only 45 minutes to go. We have 90 minutes to get four goals back.
"We have to use that as an incentive to try to reduce the deficit.
"It is a situation where we are the underdogs. If we do come back it will be a terrific night.
"We need to make sure the game does not get slowed down too often and Dinamo Bucharest are in good form at the moment. I don't think they will be complacent.
"They have some very good forwards and that's where the threat will come from."
Everton slumped to the bottom of The Premiership on Sunday after Sunderland beat Middlesbrough, but Moyes is confident they can turn things around.
"The players cannot relax, not with me as a manager," added Moyes. "I am on them all the time to make sure the performances are better.
"They are a great group of lads, they work hard for each other but there is no doubt they have lost a bit of confidence.
"The players are all determined to try to get something from this game.
"I can sense it, I can see it in them by the way they are training, the way they are reacting.
"One or two are beginning to brighten up and the sparkle is back in their eyes.
"We could do with a victory, that would be a starting point.
"Whether that will be enough, I could not tell you but I am sure you will see some response."
Meanwhile, Moyes has revealed Lee Carsley may face another operation on his knee injury.
Carsley has yet to feature for Everton this season after picking up a knee injury in pre-season and Moyes fears he may have suffered a recurrence.
"Lee has still got a problem with his knee which may need surgery, we're not too sure yet.
"I wouldn't say it was a setback because all the recent talk of him being almost ready to return was incorrect."
