Henry refuses to consider Arsenal contract
tribalfootball.com - October 3, 2005
Arsenal captain Thierry Henry will not consider new contract talks until after the end of this season.
The superstar striker, 28, has two years left on his contract but boss Arsene Wenger hoped he would put pen to paper before the New Year.
But French ace Henry, who is out with a groin injury, insisted: "We will talk about it at the end of the season.
"I will speak to the boss and ask him about things but my mind isn't on that at the moment.
"I made myself clear at the start of the season. I said I wanted to concentrate on football, help my team and focus on winning trophies rather than worry about contracts.
"Obviously, I will sit down with the boss and the board and sort it out."
It seems clear Henry, who is linked with a move to Barcelona next summer, wants to see how far Arsenal get in this season's Champions League and if they strengthen the squad during January's transfer window. |
