The agent of Juan Arango has confirmed to skysports.com that Tottenham and two other Premiership sides are chasing the Venezuelan star.
Arango has caught the eye since joining The Islanders from Mexican football in the summer of 2004 and was the subject of a bid from Spurs during the close season.
His representative in England, Luis Aparicio, insisted that the North Londoners have continued to monitor his progress this term and once again had a presence in the stands when Mallorca lost at Real Madrid last weekend.
Aparicio went on to reveal that another two Premiership clubs would be watching him in international action this week with West Ham, Bolton and Wigan believed to be amongst the clubs interested.
"There is an interest there (from Tottenham), but there is also interest from two other clubs in The Premiership that we have spoken to, " Aparicio told skysports.com.
"One is a London club and one is a Northern club.
"Venezuela has a match coming up this weekend against Paraguay, and then the Brazil game, and representatives from both clubs are going over there to have a look at him. "
Aparicio went on to reveal that while happy in Spain, the player would jump at the chance to move to England - and Tottenham especially - as it would represent the accomplishment of a long-held dream.
Indeed, the agent believes a move to The Premiership is a definite possibility during the January transfer window.
"It's likely (a move in January), if not in January then definitely by the summer, " he continued. "He likes Mallorca, but from the age of 18 he's wanted to play in England.
"With all due respect to Mallorca, who have given him the chance to play in Europe and prove himself, they are not Tottenham.
"Even when he went to Mexico there were English clubs who were looking at him, but nothing materialised.
"Now they've seen what a good player he is at Mallorca, a lot of people are looking at him again."
Arango has this season and a further two beyond that on his contract at Mallorca and, with Spurs having failed with a bid in the region of £2 million in the summer, it is likely to take at least £3 million to persuade Mallorca to do business. |
