Arsenal lead Rajkovic chase - Report

Arsenal are leading the chase for Serbo-Montenegrin wonderkid Slobodan Rajkovic.

The 16-year-old currently plays for OFK Belgrade in his homeland but has caught the eye of several major continental clubs.

Despite his tender years, Rajkovic is already a Serbia & Montenegro Under-21 international and has been watched by Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger.

The Gunners have been scouting the defender in recent weeks, after inviting the youngster over for a trial in the summer, but could be rivalled for Rajkovic by several English rivals.

Premiership champions Chelsea are rumoured to be keen, while fellow London clubs Tottenham and West Ham are also sniffing around.

European titans Milan and Marseille have also taken note of Rajkovic's promise and OFK confirmed the wealth of interest in the teenager.

"Top clubs around the world are all asking about Slobodan," said OFK official Zoran Krneta.

"He is a huge talent and is sure to be moving to a big stage.

"He is sensible for his age."

Though there is certain to be interest in bringing Rajkovic to The Premiership, work permit issues could hinder any immediate transfer.
