Bayern Munich midfielder Michael Ballack has told the German champions he will make a decision about his future before Christmas.

The 29-year-old is out of contract at the end of the current season and has been repeatedly linked with a move to Manchester United.

"I'm still very undecided and it's difficult when there is such a good chance of staying here," he said.

"Bayern is a team very close to my heart," he added.
