Julio Baptista is out for a month after hurting his knee in Real Madrid's UEFA Champions League win over Rosenborg.

The Brazil international picked up the injury during the first half against the Norwegians and was replaced at the break.

Tests on Baptista have shown that the forward has strained ligaments in his left knee and will be out for between four and five weeks.

Baptista's absence from Real's plans is allied to an injury to Ronaldo, who missed the game with Rosenborg due to an ankle problem.

The injury to Baptista on Wednesday had a positive impact on Real's performance against Rosenborg as they were trailing 1-0 at half time.

Guti was brought on for Baptista and helped to turn the game in the Spanish giants' favour as they ran out convincing 4-1 winners.
