David Beckham's red card at the weekend against Valencia has been rescinded following an appeal.

The England captain saw red on Sunday with just three minutes remaining of Real's costly 2-1 defeat to Valencia.

Beckham was first booked for protesting a foul given against team-mate Raul and then seconds later yellow turned to red after he sarcastically applauded referee Arturo Dauden Ibanez.

Like Wayne Rooney, who did almost the exact same thing against Villarreal in the UEFA Champions League, Beckham was dismissed but Spain's ruling body have decided to reverse the decision.

Real had claimed that Beckham's gesture was not sarcastic and it would appear their observations concur with those of the Spanish Football Federation (RFEF), with the midfielder now available for Wednesday's game against Deportivo La Coruna.
