CHELSEA misfit Glen Johnson is being tracked by struggling Spanish side Athletic Bilbao.
The ex-West Ham defender, 21, has endured a torrid time at Stamford Bridge since signing two and a half years ago. Matters came to a head last week when he injured his hand after punching a wall in frustration - putting him out of action for two months.
But Bilbao, who yesterday appointed former Spain coach Javier Clemente as their new boss, still rate him and could offer the right-back a lifeline.
Johnson is likely to be fit by the time the transfer window opens and Clemente, in his third spell at the club, said last night: "I am aware of players such as Johnson.
"We are always looking for good players to help the club and if he can do so then he will be of benefit to us."
