Manchester City - Ajax chase hots up

Manchester City are ready to move quickly for Ajax midfield ace Steven Peinaar but they face a battle for the services of the South African international.

Peinaar has been attracting plenty of interest and is reported to have already held preliminary talks with Cetic about the possibility of a move to Celtic Park.

The Ajax out is available on a free transfer in the summer but the Dutch giants could be ready to cash in when the transfer window opens.

Liverpool and Tottenham have also been linked with the cultured playmaker and City would face a battle to land the player's services.
