Perrin defends Robert over attack on club
ALAIN PERRIN today defended Laurent Robert over his attack on the club.
The Blues boss admitted his midfielder was entitled to be unhappy after his side's poor performance against Wigan.
And Perrin hinted he might restore the Frenchman to his starting line-up at Liverpool in eight days.
Robert branded Pompey a long-ball side Thierry Henry would struggle to play in – and moaned he hardly touched the ball after coming off the bench last Saturday.
The 30-year-old even claimed there was a campaign against him inside the club.
Pompey are considering disciplinary action against Robert over his comments. Chief executive Peter Storrie accused Robert of disrespect.
But Perrin has a different view. He said: 'I think it was normal for Laurent Robert to say what he did. Nobody was happy – nobody, in the boardroom, among the staff or the players.
'Everyone was disappointed because we wanted to win and to play better.
'I've spoken to Laurent every day this week. I see him and say: "Hello Laurent, how are you?" There's no problem.
'It's possible he could come back into the side against Liverpool.'
