BARCELONA, Nov 14 (SW) – La Liga outfit Espanyol have declared that they
have been offered the services of Italian international Christian Vieri.

“Vieri has been offered to us,” said technical director Cristobal Parralo.

“A representative spoke to us about a loan deal and we have received word
from several sources that Vieri wants to leave Milan. We need to evaluate
the financial terms before taking the matter further.”

Vieri is finding it difficult to find a place in the Milan lineup after his
summer switch from city rivals Inter, and is also battling some niggling
injuries.

A move back to Spain where he enjoyed an outstanding one-season spell with
Atletico Madird during the 1997/98 season may prove beneficial to Vieri in
order to guarantee his place in Italy’s World Cup squad.
