Everton are believed to be interested in signing Josh Wolff when the transfer window reopens in January.
The United States international bagged his country's goal in the 1-1 draw in Scotland with a well-taken penalty at the weekend.
David Moyes is looking to strengthen his attack and the Kansas City Wizards attacker has reportedly caught his eye.
At 28, Wolff might feel the time is right to try his luck in England and follow in the footsteps of former Toffees striker Brian McBride, who is now with Fulham.
The American was pleased with the draw against Walter Smith's Scotland.
"In the first 20 minutes, I think we answered everything they brought," he said. "And we were rewarded with the goal.
"I think it was deserved.
"After that, we lost our way a bit but 1-1 is okay.
"It would have been nice to get the win but everyone was pleased in the end."
