Helder Postiga bound for France

AS Saint-Etienne have announced a deal to sign the out-of-favour FC Porto
striker Helder Postiga for the rest of the season.

Lack of games
The 23-year-old has appeared just twice in the Liga this season, although he
has played six times for Portugal in that period. Helder Postiga's arrival
at the Stade Geoffroy Guichard will help compensate for the departure of
several players to the CAF African Cup of Nations in January.

Medical to come
The striker will have a medical in midweek before completing the formalities
of the transfer, yet cannot play for his new club until the Ligue 1 season
resumes after the winter break on 4 January. Helder Postiga previously left
his homeland for a season at Tottenham Hotspur FC in 2003/04.
