Addicks weigh up swoop for Bent
Charlton Athletic are weighing up a £1.5m move for Everton striker Marcus Bent when the transfer window opens.
Boss Alan Curbishley has shown interest in the 27-year-old before, and Everton are now braced for a renewed bid once the transfer action starts in January.
Bent has struggled for regular action since James Beattie arrived at Everton and has scored only once this season.
Curbishley is hoping to pair him with namesake Darren Bent in a bid to revitalise their faltering campaign.
Manchester City have also monitored the situation, but Hammersmith-born Bent is likely to favour a return to London.
If Bent does move to The Valley, Charlton would be the ninth club in 10 years for the much-travelled star who started out as a Brentford trainee.
With Beattie now established as Everton's first-choice striker, Bent has been pushed further out of the picture by James McFadden's recent good form.
And Moyes has made it clear he plans to bring in another striker in January, with Preston youngster David Nugent on his list of potential targets.
