Roma may look to Mirko Vucinic to fill the gap left by the departure of Antonio Cassano in this summer’s transfer window.
The highly promising 22-year-old striker has scored five times this campaign for Lecce and is thought to be looking for a move to a more illustrious club in the summer.
Vucinic signed for Lecce in 2000 and came to the attention of the big clubs with last season’s impressive tally of 17 league goals.
Lecce President Carlo Regalia has stated that he wants at least £7m for the Serbian marksman, under contract until 2009, and today stressed that he wants to wait until June to do business with Roma.
“Nothing is concrete but I don’t want to talk about this in January, this is something we will deal with in June.”
Antonio Cassano will leave for Madrid in June but it now seems unlikely that Daniele De Rossi will be on the flight with him. New Real Madrid Director of Football Benito Floro’s first move at the Bernebeu was to put the brakes on a possible move for the 22-year-old Azzurri midfielder. |
