Espanyol have confirmed the loan sale of Albert Riera to Manchester City until June.
Although City boss Stuart Pearce refused to even confirm an interest in the winger on Tuesday, the deal has been agreed between all parties.
The wide man is rated in the €5 million (£3.4 million) class but Espanyol have not ruled him out returning and establishing himself in Spain.
Espanyol decided to allow Riera to head for The City of Manchester Stadium in order to obtain more first team action and the player has already expressed his determination to make his mark in Manchester.
Pearce had been reluctant to discuss the possible signing, insisting he had not watched the player himself, but Riera's arrival is the second since the transfer window swung over with Finn Tuomas Haapala already arriving at Eastlands.
Espanyol confirmed the news on their official website on Tuesday afternoon.
